Summer driving with your Mazda car is fun, especially when both the interior and the exterior are looking good. Experience this fun by maintaining both the interior and the exterior. Inside the vehicle, apply a cream that protects the interior leather and synthetic surfaces. This will keep the dash look like new. This can also reduce or delay the appearance of cracks in the car’s interior. It is actually like an anti-aging cream.
The carpets as well as the mats need to be vacuumed regularly. But before doing the vacuum task, be sure that all the dirt that cannot be absorbed by the vacuum are already disposed or stored (depending on how you value them).
The dirt on the Mazda seats is a big NO. Better remove those pieces of fries and chips on the seats because they look disgusting.
To accentuate your interior, you may put some air freshener to sooth refreshing ambience and other accessories for as long as it will not make the interior topsy-turvy. You may opt to change the seat covers. Try new refreshing ones that would fit the hot season. Choose light colors that would not add to the heat of the summer sun.
When the interior is done, proceed to the exterior.
The wiper blades have an extremely important role in your safety. Since they are used for further visibility, replace them immediately when cracked, cut, torn, of if they streak or chatter when wiping.
Tires should wear evenly. Checking the tire treads for significant wears is already a big step in preventing severe tire problems. Worn tires and those with bulges and bald spots should be replaced and tire pressure should be checked regularly.
Always make sure that your spare and tire jack are always secured and in good condition. If the jack is not anymore operable, try oiling its hinges.
Since it is summer, your car also wants to always take a bath. Give it the bath it deservers. Wash it from top to bottom using a product that is specifically manufactured for automobiles and car paints. Never ever use dishwashing soaps because they will remove the car wax. In your car washing, include underbody of your car. Make sure that the salt and the dirt that causes chemical change are removed.
Because you want a good looking car, you would not want mess paint on it, right? The right thing to do is to immediately cover the paint damages if they are just minor. While you do have not yet applied the final touches, have a quick fix with a little clear nail polish on the scratch. Though it is not that good as the final paint, it would be enough to cover those minor paint damages.
Waxing is best during summer. Aside from the fact that it does protect the finish, it also makes subsequent washing easier. But before waxing, make sure to wash your car to ensure that the surface is very clean. This will further assure that the finish will not get scratched.
To help remove different deposits of wax as well as to preserve engine performance and fuel economy, add a fuel system cleaner to your gas tank every after oil change that is every three months or 3,000 miles for most drivers.
The headlights, taillights, reverse lights and signaling lights need to be checked at least once every few months. Ask someone to help you in checking. Let him/her walk around the car and observe while you test the brakes and turn signals.
Check the wheel alignment if the car goes side to side or just to one side while driving at highway speed. Having the appropriate wheel alignment will not only assure good handling, but also, and best of all, safety.
Spring driving with your Mazda car can only be fun when the car is looking good and performing well. And this can only be achieved through proper maintenance of both the interior and the exterior. Along with this, of course, is the maintenance of the engine compartment and all other parts of the car. Happy summer driving!
